Who might consider our Fellowship Tours?
If you are a lapsed Christian, then our mission - taking people on Fellowship tours - might be for you
If Christianity has failed you in practice or belief, then our mission might be for you
If Christianity has let you down, then our mission might be for you
If Christians or clergy or hierarchy have hurt you or given you no resolution, then our mission might be for you
If Christianity's dogma, ritual & negative image have drowned out Christ from your life, then our mission might be for you
If it all seems too unbelievable, well modern science & archaeology say otherwise, then our mission might be for you
If you are new to Christ or exploring His Way of life teachings, then our mission might be for you.
Why might you trust that we and our Fellowship mission is for you?
We are NOT here for:
. organised Christianity, we are here for Christians, Christ, you.
. particular Christian denomination, we are here for all denominations
. priest-led groups only, but for any groups with or without priest/curate
. not here for preexisting groups only, but for individuals, couples, friends, to make up a group - a fellowship
We don't do massive coach parties, we travel in 12 or 15 or so, with our Fellowship purpose for you
We don't do whistle-stop but aim for you to have time "to be", "to feel" the history, and the moment
We don't do much touristy fluff, we try to feed your hearts and minds with the experience and the places
We don't do hardship struggle pilgrimage either, we are here for enlightenment of your spirit. Not for strugglee 🙂
We don't do austerity but FUN 🙂 with good hotels, food, restaurants, guides, and transportation
So How is our Fellowship Mission Different
What we do DO is try to align everything to making this a fun Spiritual Fellowship tour. It's not for box-ticking but for having a relaxed, good time, while exploring the roots of Christianity and the Places of The Holy Spirit, Christ, Paul, Peter, Thomas...
We take you on a "Fellowship" tour, to meet and greet and make friends as we go
We book comfortable 3 to 5 star hotels, coaches, restaurants, and excellent tour guides
We build in time for questions, group discussions, contemplation... time to explore on your own
We build in fun time too, weather permitting at the beach, evening meals together, site seeing
We encourage lively debate about Christ and His teachings
For thinkers who don't like dogma, but seek Christ & His teachings
"Have a think about this..." was the approach in all of Christ's parables and teachings. "Think about" not stoning this woman; about the sower and the seed; about seeing what's in our eye; about how we treat others... Time and again Christ is not telling, preaching, commanding but asking us to "think about a thing" and so see what is right to do. If you are someone who likes to think, decide for your self, a thoughtful person, a university grad or bright young person, a still curious older person 🙂 you will clearly see there were words and deeds of Churchill or Kennedy or Mandela or Obama or Anne Frank that you might not entirely agree with; however you also clearly see there is much that is good and still of value in these great icons. We take their best. We set aside what we can't see eye to eye on.
In the same way the world needs to see Christ. And while Christianity has suffered a decline, set aside what you don't see eye to eye with, but keep sight of the words and deeds of Christ. Take a look for yourself: not a single thing Christ did or said could not today be used to help humanity - of all religions, colours, and nations. Christ took nothing for Himself; instead He freely gave to all kinds of people. And He did this without piousness or religiousness (He advised against such). He said and did good things for the benefit of all. NEVER to benefit himself. Ultimately He sacrificed Himself for us. And then gave The Holy Spirit; The Helper
So if you see the church is in decline, take another look at Christ: His words and deeds are not in decline; only the ability in our eyes and ears and heart to perceive them; and then only the missing quietness and stillness in our world to give us a chance to think on them, reflect ourselves in them, and decide to reject or apply them.
Our Fellowship tours aim to give you that chance to be away from the noise of the world, and to see and feel, and so hold on to the Good in Christ and His teaching. You bringing that good into how you live your own life with your fellow man is our ultimate aim.
Original opening - cut
In our fast, demanding, media dominated world - digital, social media, TV news, politicians - getting time to think, contemplate, meditate, pray is increasingly difficult. Where there is still a connection to Christ but not on Christianity or religion generally, that connection is hard to tap into.
The early places of Christianity seem to still have that connection. Not in a "religious" way but a spiritual one. But going on holiday with "church-insiders", the priest/curate, is not for everyone. Especially if you feel the "outsider" - from a different denomination or you're a non church-going Christian. However it has happened, you followed an impulse and found you are here
This article poses many questions to help you see who you might be getting mixed-up with, with us! And your likely fellow travellers. It's also to warn you we are not really about doing touristy things ONLY, but to take you to fab places so letting you do some inner work to strengthen where you are with Christ and Christians.
